HAMREN LARSSON

The Hamrén-Larsson family from London donated USD 500,000 to support Hand in Hand’s work to empower women in Tamil Nadu, India. This generous donation enables 20,000 women to receive enterprise training and 13,300 to receive literacy training.

Explaining why they decided to partner with Hand in Hand, Eva Hamrén-Larsson says, “We decided to support the women’s programme because we wanted to make a difference to the lives of children in India and we believe the key to this is the women. Hand in Hand empowers women by giving them business and literacy training. This creates a powerful force for change within the family and the village as a whole. It becomes possible to get children out of the workforce and back into education, which is the best way to secure a better future. We went to visit the projects in Tamil Nadu this year and were very impressed with the progress. We would like to encourage other potential donors to consider supporting this well-run and efficient organisation.”
