INDIVIDUALS

donors

The core of Hand in Hand’s funding comes from individuals. They believe that our approach of providing self-help solutions at low cost is a powerful way forward for getting people out of poverty.

How we work with you

Donors come with many different passions and interests. Hand in Hand can deliver projects in a variety of areas, e.g. job creation, women’s empowerment, health, and education.

We usually talk through the various areas that can interest donors.

  • To provide entrepreneurial training for one woman costs USD 18
  • To provide literacy and numeracy training for one woman costs USD 18
  • To get one child back into school costs USD 50
  • To support one mobile health camp costs USD 500
  • One watershed project, which enables farmers to conserve water and so increase their productivity by a dramatic 50-75% costs USD 25,000
  • Our Citizens’ Centres give poor and rural communities access to information about their democratic rights and communication technology. These cost USD 2,500 and each one serves about 1,000 people
  • To support a village for two years through our Village Programme costs USD 35,000

Donors are usually attracted to us because of our ability to deliver towards clear goals and our low overheads. We report every three months and, for those donors who take on larger projects, we can do more personal reports.
