RADIOHJÄLPEN

The profile
Radiohjälpen has since the start in 1939 coordinated fundraising benefitting humanitarian projects within the Swedish Television, The Swedish Radio, and the Swedish Radio’s Educational Unit. Radiohjälpen distributes collected funding to aid agencies and organisations. Radiohjälpen receives funding through the acknowledged postal giro account number 90 1950-6, probably the world’s most famous 90-account.
The project
Radiohjälpen’s support to Hand in Hand has a clear focus on eliminating child labour and ensuring universal education. With support from Radiohjälpen, we have for example been able to develop the activities at our residential schools. Hand in Hand’s residential schools focus on rehabilitating vulnerable children who have been engaged in labour and who have been out of school for longer periods. Another example of the support from Radiohjälpen is Mahatma Gandhi Primary School, which enrols many children from marginalised communities.
