To benefit all stakeholders, many companies are developing corporate social responsibility strategies that involve fighting poverty and its causes.

Being a good corporate citizen involves managing operational risk around supply chains or plants, showing interest in the conditions of countries where corporations operate, demonstrating a true commitment to ethics, and creating a shared focus and pride for employees in charitable programmes. Hand in Hand has provided partnerships with companies in all these areas.

How we work with you

Hand in Hand is dedicated to bringing real value both to the poor that we serve, and to our corporate partners:

• We are always guided by the principle of integrity, and we never compromise the values that guide us: dignity, hope, and choice for the poor we serve.
• Hand in Hand sees corporations as a potential force for good, and actively seeks opportunities to team up with companies to fight poverty in all its guises.
• We also understand that donors and partners are taking a growing interest in the projects they support. We therefore work hard to adapt our programmes to meet corporate requirements.
• Hand in Hand has many employees with business backgrounds, which means we understand corporate needs. We understand and respect the requirements to make a profit, and to be accountable to shareholders, employees, customers, and society as a whole.
• Hand in Hand’s marketing teams in India, Europe and the USA work closely with corporate partners to design programmes to suit their individual profiles.
• Such programmes could involve supporting women’s entrepreneurship, getting children back into school, providing healthcare support, creating environmentally sustainable projects, or setting up Citizens’ Centres.
• An initial idea is usually worked out between the corporation and Hand in Hand. This is followed by fine-tuning and detailed budgeting on site in the projects.
• Corporations appreciate Hand in Hand’s expertise in establishing and achieving clear goals, with highly transparent budgets and accessible, friendly staff.
• Our projects are always open to site visits. We value feedback and see input from our partners as chances to grow and learn.
• Our Advisory Councils are open to representatives of the partnering companies, to help ensure high transparency and participation.
