VILLAGE UPLIFT PROGRAMME

The Village Uplift Programme is a consolidated project where we apply all five pillar programmes simultaneously in one village. Each village is supported by one exclusive donor, who ‘adopts’ the village for two years for $35,000. The Village Uplift Programme is the practical application of our integrated development approach in one village at a time.
During the two years in the selected village, Hand in Hand commits to:
- Eradicate child labour and improve education standards
- Hold medical camps and eradicate malnutrition and anaemia
- Plant trees and flowering shrubs and clean the village through organised waste disposal and awareness programmes
- Renovate government-run child day-care centres (anganwadis)
- Introduce mobile Citizens’ Centres and conduct trainings in computer literacy
- Motivate and mobilise villagers into committees that deal with good governance, children’s rights, and health rights protection
- Hold veterinary camps and conduct trainings in better farming methods
